HTA MH370 Arctic White — Boeing 777 APU Auxiliary Power Unit

The HTA MH370 Arctic White APU Auxiliary Power Unit is a complete Honeywell 331-500 series auxiliary power unit in certified-unserviceable condition, extracted from a decommissioned Boeing 777-200ER airframe and available for permanent static display, training cutaway development, or engineering research at aviation educational institutions and aerospace organizations with appropriate facilities to receive and display a major aircraft powerplant component of this size and specification. The APU is a gas turbine engine of approximately 440 kW shaft power rating in operational configuration, providing both bleed air for pneumatic systems and electrical power through its integrated AC generator when installed in a 777 aircraft. The unit as offered is complete with its external gearbox assembly, inlet door actuator provisions, bleed air duct stubs, oil system components, and the distinctive Honeywell APU signature casing and containment ring that encloses the gas generator core. The compressor and turbine sections of the gas generator are intact and the rotating assembly turns freely by hand, demonstrating the internal turbomachinery configuration for training purposes. The unit has been fully drained of all fluids, depreservation treated and represerved in HTA’s aerospace storage compound, and crated in a custom wooden shipping crate with internal foam support cradle at six point contact locations. Honeywell APU historical maintenance record summary, Boeing APU compartment installation reference drawing, and HTA decommissioning documentation are included in a sealed archival package. The APU measures approximately 1.6 m in length by 0.9 m in diameter and weighs approximately 195 kg without fluids, ready for installation on an HTA-supplied static display mount available separately
